A fantastic luxury paddle

The Coco de Mer Brown Leather Paddle is part of a luxurious set, which looks and feels amazing. The build quality looks to be of high quality of leather and suede. Has a good weight to it and can be easily held. The price is a little high, but compared to others I feel it is much better then the others.

A simply luxurious paddle

I have been slowly building my collection of Coco de Mer bondage equipment. I really do love a matching set. Having already purchased the wrist cuffs, the ancle cuffs the blindfold and the mini flogger, the paddle was next on list of desired items. The Coco de Mer leather paddle is the same rich dark brown leather and luxurious. It's presented in its own natural cotton storage bag - perfect for keeping the paddle safe and separate from other bondage toys during storage. The paddle is 13.75 inches in total length, 3.25 inches in width and an impressive almost half an inch deep. The depth is achieved through four bonded layers of leather. The paddle has a smooth leather side and a softer sued side. The handle is shaped to make it comfortable to grip, but there is no wrist loop. In use, the suede side of the paddle is much softer and gives a gentle thud rather than a crack, while the leather side will give a slightly firmer more audible strike. I was very surprised at how flexible the paddle is. I had expected the paddle to be firmer, particularly given there are four layers of leather in the paddle. The suede side is a good warm up, but to be honest I struggle to make the paddle cause any real pain. No matter how hard my OH swings the paddle, it only really stings. My bottom and thighs do redden but there are no welt or lasting marks. For this reason I think it would be too mild for an advanced user, and too expensive for a beginner, putting it in the realms of intermediate user (one with deep pockets). So is the Coco de Mer paddle perfect? Not quite. I would have preferred a wrist loop. I know this is personal preference, but I have inadvertently thrown it across the room while delivering a firm blow. In honesty I'm not sure it warrants the price tag. It is very stylish, well made and part of a luxurious matching set. Most people would struggle to justify the price. Had I not really wanted a matching set, I would not have paid the price for this paddle. It is sturdy, stylish and will last a long time, but a little over priced.

Luxury spanks

I have quite a large collection of hitty stuff, from crops, to floggers and paddles and the Coco de Mer Brown Leather Paddle has to be one of my most luxurious paddles and one I don't want to share! The paddle comes in it's own drawstring storage bag, rather than a wrist loop that you could also use to hang the paddle. An ergonomic handle means it is easy to hold and the wide paddle offers spanks on a large surface area, such as the buttocks. I have found the Coco de Mer Brown Leather Paddle to be of premium quality with perfect stitching and the smoothest leather and the sumptuous, soft suede on the opposite side. The chocolate brown is different, but still looks kinky and not too dissimilar to the Dominix Braun range. Both sides offer totally different sensations, with the leather providing an audible thwack and a slight sting to your skin. The suede tends to feel more thuddy and is best to use to begin play. It feels great to trace the suede over various parts of your body and then using it to spank. I especially love it on my ample rump as a warm up, then switch to the leather side for an eye-watering slap! It leaves your buttocks a nice rosy pink! I tend to prefer the paddle to be used on me, as I can't get used to the handle. I am so used to having a wrist loop and although I've never lost control of a paddle, I just like the extra security. If the Coco de Mer Brown Leather Paddle had a wrist loop, it would look a little cheaper. I was thrilled to be chosen to test this paddle, it will be kept with my Bettie Paige items, it's too luxurious to be kept with my cheaper bondage stuff. I'd recommend this to those who seek the more high-end bondage items. There are matching Coco de Mer items to go with it, but they are pricy. If I had the money, I'd buy them all, but sadly I'm always on a budget. If you are intermediate to advanced players, this paddle would be good for those that enjoy impact play and spanking. I love it, but won't share when in the fetish club! It's all mine!
