Lovehoney Plus Size Black Wet Look Hold-Ups with Lace Tops

Lovely sexy stockings

I decided to take a chance on purchasing these despite its mixed reviews, slightly worried that they wouldn't fit my legs. I'm a fairly chunky girl with muscly calves, so was skeptical. Upon putting them on they fit amazingly well! They clung to me legs like a second skin and felt amazing when I would run my hand up and down them. The hold up lace worked well too! Along with the lovely amount of tightness they stayed on really well! They're incredibly sexy and my boyfriend absolutely loves them on me!

Pleasantly surprised

On opening the packet and unfolding the stockings, the foot shape stands out as looking somewhat like a box. It’s a bit better when you’ve worn them/are wearing them but you still end up with a pointy bit at the toes which is a little odd. I’m not used to wearing stockings or hold-ups so was pleasantly surprised at how shapely these made my legs look and how comfortable they were. They gave me confidence and made me feel a bit naughty and minxy. It took a couple of attempts to get them to stay up in place, but I’m attributing that to my inexperience rather than the product because when I got it right, they didn’t move! I like that there are two strips of elastic rather than one for security to hold them up. They have a tendency to bunch and wrinkle around the knees but are easy enough to smooth out by readjusting the lace tops. The sizing is true for 26-30 which is a good thing.

‘Slippery When’ Wet-Look Stockings

We were asked to review the Wet Look Stockings (plus size) along with the LH Wet Look Gloves (see separate review) in exchange for an honest review. Or should I say, Mrs F&F was asked to review them and kept this as a surprise for Mr F&F? As usual, these arrived in a discreet package and with LH’s usual fast service. Mrs F&F literally couldn’t wait to receive the package, and continued to tease me that there was something special about to happen! Although this was a new experience for us (having never tried wet look fabrics before) Mrs F&F was very happy with the feel of them against her legs. They're smooth, quite soft and very comfortable on the inside and went on quite easily. Seeing the entire ensemble made quite an impact on Mr F&F, who felt an instant desire to obey every instruction issued by Mrs F&F. The fabric felt at least as good from the outside, especially with those legs wrapped around his back! The texture is somewhere between satin and leather and warms quickly. It's thin enough to accentuate the touch of your lover without losing the subtleties of the skin underneath. Mr F&F couldn’t resist running his hands up and down the wet looks stocking clad legs of Mrs F&F at every opportunity. The stockings measured 80cm  from toe to top, with around 8cm of swirly, floral lace trim at the top hiding a twin band of grippy polymer which from memory was more than adequate to hold them up without need for suspenders (although Mrs F&F ends up spending the vast majority of the tests on her back with her legs in the air so this hasn’t been tested very stringently). There is a little stretch in the whole stockings so they should fit comfortably and be as flexible as you need.

Size inclusive

I was kindly asked to review the Lovehoney Plus Size Wet Look Lace Top Hold Up Stockings and I gladly accepted. I was so thrilled that these stockings fit sizes 26-30. Unfortunately, I have lymphoedema on my shins, so it's a task and a half to get any type of wet look clothing past my knees. Lovehoney sell fantastic, size-inclusive, own brand stockings, so I knew these would be just as amazing and I was not left disappointed. My first impressions were shock and amazement at the quality of the materials and the overall length and fit. If you're tall, you'll still get thigh high stockings. I'm 5'6 and can get the lace right up to my bum cheeks. If you're petite, you may struggle with the fabric gathering around the knees and ankles. I like how the seam runs down the back of the stockings and under the foot, however, there is the slight issue of the fabric gathering into a triangle between the big and 2nd toe. Not gonna lie, it's not a sexy look at all and anything I tried to get rid of it seemed to fail. Eventually, I got used to it and luckily it wasn't noticed. The sultry lace top is a good width for my very chunky thighs. There's a great grip to the lace which meant the stockings didn't roll down, even after hand washing the stockings and if I feel the need for extra support, the Lovehoney Plus Size Wet Look Lace Top Hold Up Stockings look even better with suspenders. The wet look material does tend to gather and wrinkle at my ankles, but hey, they're not nylons, but a thicker material. You may need to consider a shoe size up to accommodate the stockings. I'd certainly be very happy to purchase these myself.

Holds Up

If you are looking to add a different look to your normal hold-ups to your wardrobe, have a look at these. These hold-ups have a lace top and accompanied with the wet look fabric, they look great! They will make you feel great when you have them on too. So are there any drawbacks? The only issue is the shape of the feet which are a bit odd. It's worth wearing them for a bit to get them to stretch to the shape of your feet and are more comfortable without heels.

Love the fit

I absolutely loved these stockings. They were a great texture and not too thin. The stick at the top was great and stayed in place. The only thing I found strange and uncomfortable was the toe stitching. I didn’t know which way the toe was supposed to fit. It is a point toe stitching which I guess I would have rather it be open toe to be more comfortable. To make the seam go up the back of the leg I had to have the seam up the middle of my foot. Overall so sexy. My husband loves them. Thank you

I bought these in plus to go with a couple wet look items of lingerie. Although the lace tops have a bit of sticky lining so they don’t slide down your leg, this doesn’t stop them from rolling outward and down. It would be impossible to wear these without garter straps to hold them up.
